Andhra Pradesh (AP) EdCET 2016 Results 


This is an important entrance test organized for candidates who want to pursue an education in B. Ed in the state of Andhra Pradesh. A Common Entrance Test also known as AP Education Common Entrance Test-2016 (APEd.CET-2016), it is conducted by the Convener of APEd.CET-2016,  Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati on behalf of the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) for admission. Clearing this exam shall give a chance to the students to pursue a B.Ed two year regular course in the education colleges all over Andhra Pradesh State for the academic year 2016-2017.


Age of admission: The candidates should have completed the age of 19 years on 1st July of the year in which notification is issued. There shall be no maximum age limit.


Medium of Entrance Test: The question paper will be in English and Telugu except for English methodology. However, candidates opting to write the Entrance Test in Urdu medium will be served with Urdu paper and such candidates shall opt Kurnool as Test Centre.

What is the Eligibility Criteria for AP EDCET 2016?


Only the candidates satisfying the following requirements shall be eligible to appear for AP Ed.CET-2016.

(i)  The Candidates should be Indian Nationals.

(ii)  The Candidates should satisfy Local/Non-Local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order 1974 as subsequently amended.

(iii)  Educational Qualifications:

a.  Candidates should have passed/appearing for final year examinations of B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Com./ B.C.A./B.B.M. at the time of submitting the Application for APEd.CET-2016. Candidates should be required to produce marks memo and pass certificate at the time of admission.

b.  Candidates should have secured a minimum of 50% marks either in the Bachelors Degree i.e. B.A./B.Sc./B.Sc. (Home Science)/B.Com./B.C.A./B.B.M and or in the Masters Degree in relevant subject or 5years integrated course in the relevant subject of methodology or any other qualification equivalent thereto. However the candidates belonging to all other reserved categories i.e. S.C. S.T., B.C. (A/B/C/D/E), and Physically handicapped should have secured a minimum of 40% marks in the qualifying examination.

c.  The candidates who passed B.E/B.Tech, with Mathematics, Physics are eligible for admission into the Course. 


Application Fee procedure for AP EDCET 2016


The application for EDCET will be accepted online only. There are however two options to pay the fees, offline at any of the AP Online centers or online through debit/credit card.

Procedure for AP EDCET 2016 Fee Deposit at AP Online Centers


1.     Visit any of the AP Online centers with the following mandatory details:

  • Hall Ticket number of the Qualifying Examination
  • Name of the Candidate
  • Candidate's Father Name
  • Date of Birth of the Candidate
  • Hall Ticket number of S.S.C (10th Class)
  • Mobile number

2.   Pay the requisite fee and obtain a receipt for the same. Ensure that it contains a Journal ID for applying and future reference.

3.  Logon to using the "Journal ID" given above to complete filling up your form.


Exam Pattern for AP EDCET 2016


This CET is structured to evaluate the candidate’s overall knowledge. The test shall be of objective type (multiple choice) examination. Candidate has to answer 150 questions in two hours’ time.

Consists of 25 questions for 25 marks

Results for AP EDCET 2016


  • Candidates will be ranked in each methodology in the order of merit on the basis of marks obtained in APEd.CET -2016 examination.
  • Wherever there is a tie in total marks, Part-C marks will be taken into account to decide relative ranking. In case of further tie, the marks obtained in Part-A will be taken into account to decide relative ranking.
  • In case of candidates getting equal marks in each of the parts of the test paper, they shall be bracketed for the purpose of award of rank. At the time of admission into the course, age shall be taken into consideration for relative ranking among the bracketed candidates and the older candidates shall be given priority.
  • The rank obtained in AP Ed.CET-2016 is valid for entry into B.Ed. course for the academic year 2016-2017 only.
  • Request for re-totaling or revaluation or personal identification of scripts will not be entertained.


AP EDCET 2016 Counselling Schedule


  • The counselling shall be conducted at online centers allotted to the candidates by the conducting authorities. The candidates shall be required to go to their respective centers on the day of counselling and follow certain steps to register and secure a seat for their course.
  • Candidates will be called for registration rank-wise. They will be required to sign in the register and pay the processing fee and proceed for verification of certificates. Candidates belonging to SC / ST category have to pay Rs. 450/- and all others have to pay Rs.900/- towards processing fee which is non-refundable.
  • The candidates shall produce Original certificates as notified at the time of certificate verification and bring Xerox copies of certificates for submission
  •  The verification officer will verify the genuinity of the certificates produced and collect the Xerox copies of certificates. After verification, the candidate shall collect the Receipt of Certificates from the counter.
  • Candidates need to verify the mobile number, caste category, local area, gender, minority, parental income, special category, date of birth, eligible degree, specialization and details of APEDCET examination printed on receipt of certificates. Any discrepancy should be brought to the notice of Camp Officer / Co-ordinator immediately for corrections. Seat allotment process depends on the accuracy of the above data. You are also jointly responsible for ensuring the correctness of the data.

To successfully apply for EDCET, the candidates have to make the payment first and they will be able to fill the form afterwards. Online applications will start from 16th February 2016 and once you have submitted the fee you can start filling the form through the following procedure


1. Go to the official website to view the application form.

2. Select the relevant fee option according to your choice since and then you can proceed.

3.  Enter all your academic and personal details as asked in the form that now appears.

4.  Upload your scanned photograph and signature carefully where required.

5.  Click on ‘Agree’ button and submit the form.

6.  After the completion and submission of the form, a unique registration ID is generated. Keep this registration ID for future reference as it will be used at the time of downloading admit card and when you are about to look at your score.

7.  As you will click on ‘Confirm’ button, a confirmation SMS will be sent to your registered mobile number and an email containing a copy of the filled application form will also be delivered to your email ID.
